Experiences of Nurses Working at Hemodialysis Centers on Education of Self care Diet Therapy for Hemodialysis Patients

Abstract
Purpose: This study describes experiences of nurses on self-diet education for hemodialysis patients and understandings of the role of nurses' on the education.. The results of this study will provide understanding for hemodialysis nurses and patients.

Method: Research data were collected from interviews with five nurses and each interview was conducted separately. Five participants were interviewed until the data reached saturation point. Data were analyzed using van Manen's hermeneutic phenomenological analytic method.

Result: Eight themes were identified in the first stage of data analysis and finally categorized into four essential themes. Each title of 4 essential themes are ¡®Awareness of educational limitations¡¯,¡®Understanding the individual differences among
patients¡¯,¡®Partner role in the tedious and isolated disease process¡¯, and¡®The role of nursing guide by providing
personalized educationto help self-care¡¯.

Conclusion: The results will be helpful for improving education skills for nurses at hemodialysis centers and provide in-depth information about the self care diet therapy for hemodialysis patients.
